WEEK TWO
Colonization & Spotting Contamination
This module delves into the crucial stage of colonization. You’ll learn the art of colonizing your grain spawn, witnessing the mycelium’s growth and understanding the signs of successful colonization. We’ll also cover the important topic of spotting and identifying contamination.
WEEK THREE
Learn Techniques: “Break & Shake”
Enhancing colonization speed is the focus of this module. You’ll discover the technique of “break & shake,” which involves gently breaking up colonized grain and redistributing it to promote faster and more even colonization. We’ll provide step-by-step guidance on how to execute this process effectively, maximizing the potential of your mycelium.
WEEK FOUR
Spawn To Substrate
This module explores the transition from spawn to substrate. You’ll delve into the world of CVG (coco coir, vermiculite, gypsum), a widely used fruiting medium for mushrooms. We’ll discuss the reasons behind its popularity and guide you through the process of mixing your grain spawn into the substrate.
